Securing a Fairer Future for All Autistic Australians

The theme this year for World Autism Awareness Day for 2025 is “Advancing Neurodiversity and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”, (which highlights the intersection between neurodiversity and global sustainability efforts, showcasing how inclusive policies and practices can drive positive change for autistic individuals worldwide and contribute to the achievement of the SDGs).

Current systemic barriers prevent a fairer future for all Autistic Australians. Investing in targeted reforms and policies that improve choice, social justice, life experiences, and outcomes for ALL Autistic people to thrive across the life span is not only a human right but also a strong investment.

In the lead up to the Federal Election we are looking to build on the pre-election commitments we were able to secure from all major parties in 2022, which included among the National Autism Strategy and the National Health and Mental Health Roadmap for Autistic people.

We are calling on all political parties to make the following commitments through action and accountability to back a stronger, fairer future for Autistic Australians.
