The Australian Government is currently consulting on major changes to how NDIS plans are made. The Australian Autism Alliance is inviting you to complete this survey so your voice, insights and other advice and will directly inform what we tell the NDIA and the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing about:

– What is working
– What concerns the community
– What needs to change
– What must be protected.

What is this survey about?

We want to hear from our community about the new NDIS Framework Planning. Your opinions will help guide decision-makers on issues that affect Autistic people and their families and others.

Who is hosting this survey?

This survey is run by the Australian Autism Alliance, the national disability representative organisation furthering the rights and interests of Autistic people across the life span, their parents and carers, and the autism community in Australia.

Established in 2016, the Australian Autism Alliance strives to improve the life chances of autistic people and facilitate collaboration within the Autistic and autism community, and those making decisions that affect us, e.g. Federal, State & Local Government, and their departments and sectors.

What do I need to do to participate in this survey?

  • The survey may take around 12–20 minutes
  • There are no right or wrong answers; we just want your views
  • Some questions offer multiple-choice response options, and some invite free-text (your written/typed) answers
  • If you are unable to complete the survey in one sitting, please click on the link in the top right of the survey page encouraging you to save and return to your responses
  • Taking part is anonymous and voluntary — you can skip any questions you prefer not to answer.

Who can take part?

We welcome responses from Autistic people, family members, educators, researchers, service providers, professionals, advocates, peak bodies, opinion leaders and others who support Autistic people directly or indirectly.

We also welcome responses from people living with disability, in general, and your allies.

Your privacy and confidentiality

  • This is an anonymous survey. We will not collect personal information unless you choose to provide it
  • Your answers will be combined with others to create a summary report
  • Individual responses will not be shared with other organisations or used for marketing
  • Survey results will be used to share with the Autistic and autism community and for decision makers involved in the new NDIS Framework Planning reform program
  • The anonymous dataset may be kept on file and used to inform future related advice provided to the government.
